The reference scanner employs a detection process patented by Leuze. With this process, the scanner is taught against a fixed background – the reference. Like a retro-reflective photoelectric sensor, the scanner returns a switching signal if the reference is no longer detected. The sensor is the optimum solution for demanding detection tasks for which no reflector can be mounted.
