A new generation of compact contrast scanners communicates completely via IO-Link. Leuze electronic GmbH und Co. KG, Owen, has developed a completely new platform with a high component integration level for its contrast scanners. The resulting compact design of these sensors enables them to be easily integrated even where space is at a premium. Furthermore, all adjustments during start-up, production or in the event of service can now be made via IO-Link.

For example, sensor calibration is no longer necessary after a change of format in a packaging system. All the necessary process parameters for up to thirty formats are stored in the sensor and can be switched over within a few milliseconds via IO-Link. A wide range of diagnostic functions can also be called up via IO-Link.

The whole product range already supports the new IO-Link concept in which the data are retained (data retention concept). Sensor replacement during service is now a piece of cake, as all relevant data are automatically backed up and duplicated.
